WORLD DOLL DAY

Mildred Seeley established World Doll Day on June 14, to celebrate dolls and the people who are offering it with love and care. Most of the people celebrate this day by giving a doll to someone they love. A child of maybe even an adult. For centuries children have played with cleverly and beautifully wooden dolls, however off late most of the dolls are made of plastic.

Celebrate this day, by taking  your kids to Shankar’s International Dolls Museum, New Delhi. See the dolls evolve through time and places. Shankar’s International Dolls Museum is largest collection of costume dolls anywhere in the world. Experience the various international cultures through this amazing dolls collection!

Jubilant team has come across an amazingly sweet video created by animator Uri Lotan. Uri created this as a official video for Jane Bordeaux song Ma’agalim(Circles). In this video, a wooden penny arcade doll, who is stuck in place and time, endlessly wanders into different scenes and exiting quickly, visually representing the lyrics of the song.

Below is the translation of the lyrics.

Nights turn into days
Days turn into years
And among them I was going faster in circles
Winds are blowing on me
Blow on the back of my neck
Everything seems too far too big
I’m not moving forward
It’s the time that drifts away
This is another passing train
It’s a further tightening rope
